Minimalist bedroom for a good night’s sleep

With the never-ending days, the constant running during daytime, the huge workload piling to each and every one of us… we are all finding ourselves in a crucial need to rest well. Our bodies fuel-up during sleep and there is absolutely no better place for relaxing than our own bedroom.

Keeping it simple, neat and well-organized is the key to have your eyes feel relaxed at first… and subsequently, your mind. With only few changes, you can make your bedroom the perfect place for your good night sleep.

 1-     Declutter and organize

Get rid of the junk, whether it’s inside the closets or on your dressing table… just let go what you do not need. There’s a rule that says that everything you haven’t used in the past season needs to go to charity; apply it! It comes in handy. By removing what is keeping the space occupied, you indirectly give space to natural light, illuminating the room

2-     Natural light

Speaking of light, try, as much as possible to highlight the windows – and if any, the door to the balcony – of your room. Light gives freedom to the thoughts, clarity to the mind… try to keep your curtains open and in case they’re dark or thick, opt for light colored, thin shaded ones.

This will help the room look more open and modern… and ultimately minimal

3-     LED light

If the sleeping place doesn’t get enough sunshine – or natural light- try placing embedded LED lights for the room in strategical places… such as behind the mirror of the dressing table or in a corner with a green plant. Those small details make the entire difference especially for small bedrooms.

4-     Greens

A minimalist bedroom must have an earthy touch, and there is absolutely nothing better than a plant to represent that. It can be something ‘fake’ such as rubber plant or a small natural indoor-plant. Whatever you opt for, make sure it’s safe for a bedroom as a start and that it doesn’t crowd the ambiance. Afterall, we are aiming to bring in simplicity.

5-     The bed

Also known as the centerpiece of the bedroom…. At the end of the day, this is exactly where we come back to relax and plunge into the good sleep. Minimalist beds are most of the time frameless, but this is not a rule. The bed design must be simple, whether it has or hasn’t got a frame.

A beneficial touch to the décor would be opting for ‘earthy’ colors too. Light wood maybe for the back of the bed or a floating bed with an installation of lights underneath. Who said minimalist and luxurious can’t (or don’t) go hand in hand?

6-     Your touch

We’ve all got something we like, a hobby maybe, a painter, something that touches us deep down.

That thing? Get into your room. But make sure to get one item only and give it its space. A painting on the wall, a small statue from your favorite country. As long as its small and color-fitting, let it decorate your place and inspire you good times for a better sleep.

7-     Sleep-friendly paint color

A relaxing mind starts with a relaxed vision. Skip the colors, the bright colors mainly, and go back to mother earth’s palette. From light beige to a relaxing grey, keep your walls simple, unified in colors and mostly clean.

Maintaining your colors is as important as painting them originally. Small bedrooms ideas

8-     Technology outside

In order to be totally relaxed at night, get rid of all electronic devices around you, including the television or even the phone. Make sure to consider this area as device-free and that will guarantee a more relaxed space. Read books and magazines before you get some sleep… the internet can (and will) wait.

Alternatively, watch your favorite show in your living room and only go to the room when you are seeking peace and relaxation.

Small bedroom ideas are endless, but minimalist bedroom designs are even vaster and more trending too.

It might take some time to transform the interior of your sleeping place, but once you actually do, you will feel the difference. You will notice how the quality of your sleep improves… and that is priceless.
